Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car Integration

From Tung Chung MTR Station, Exit B is about a 5-minute walk from the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car terminal, so the rail network connects directly to the mountain: the cable car runs up to Ngong Ping, where the Tian Tan Buddha and Po Lin Monastery sit above the village.

Central to Mui Wo Ferry Service

The ferry between Central Pier 6 and Mui Wo is one of Hong Kong's most scenic crossings, with open harbour views the whole way. Sailings from 1 April 2026 are all fast ferries, taking about 35-40 minutes; the slower, cheaper ordinary sailings that used to run on this route have been withdrawn.

Inter-Island Ferry Connections

Other outlying-island routes run from Central alongside the Mui Wo service: the Cheung Chau ferries leave from Pier 5, and the same operator runs the inter-island route Peng Chau - Mui Wo - Chi Ma Wan - Cheung Chau, which is the way to chain islands together from Lantau.

Tourist Day Passes

For heavy single-day MTR use there is the Adult Tourist Day Pass; if you are arriving by Airport Express, the Airport Express Travel Pass bundles the airport trip with three consecutive days of unlimited MTR travel. Both are set out below.

Airport Express Travel Pass: HK$250 for one Airport Express single journey, HK$350 for two. Each includes a HK$50 refundable deposit and three consecutive days of unlimited travel on the MTR, the Light Rail and MTR Bus
Adult Tourist Day Pass: HK$65 for one day of unlimited MTR travel (child HK$30), excluding the Airport Express, East Rail first class and the Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations
No standalone 3-day MTR pass exists. Three consecutive days of unlimited MTR travel comes only with the Airport Express Travel Pass above
